Welcome

On June 03, 2010 Governor Sonny Perdue signed into law an act (Senate Bill 491) providing certification of individuals authorized to serve process in Georgia. The Judicial Council of Georgia, the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, and the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) worked aggressively to create and implement the various requirements of Senate Bill 491. The Judicial Council adopted rules governing Georgia Certified Process Server (GCPS) program on January 21, 2011. The certification program operates in partnership with the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association and Georgia Sheriffs.

GCPS seeks to advance professionalism and establish opportunities for growth within the process server industry. The AOC administers an examination to persons seeking certification to serve civil process in the state of Georgia. The AOC administered its first examination on May 3, 2012 and has since tested over 300 individuals seeking Georgia certification
